how do i put a lein on a quit claim deed property

Posted on: 22nd Jul, 2008 08:50 am
i need to put a lien on property we did work for and didn't get paid. the property has a quit claim deed.
Welcome celsing.

To put a lien on the property you need to get a court order. The process is simple. But state laws differ from one to another. So you need to check out the rules and regulation in the local magistrate. You can even hire an attorney for you.

Let me know if you have any further queries.

It sounds like you need to do a "Mechanics lien". A court order is not required. The process is complicated and there is a time period within which you must file the lien. Contact a construction law attorney immediately.

Hi carmen!

Welcome to forums!

If the deed to the driveway is still in your name, then you're owner of the property. Nevertheless, you can even contact an attorney and take his opinion in this regard.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
