Hello Dk,
I would like to offer you some advice. But unfortunately, I've never heard of the company. This must be a broker! You should consider going with a reputable company, possibly a company more familiar to you.

Good luck!

Welcome Dk,

I haven't heard of any action lawsuits held against Midland mortgage. In case you wish to know whether the company is reliable, you may check out with the Better Business Bureau website.

I'm sure there is more than one Midland Mortgage. A simple google search found one in Tucker, GA; another in South Carolina; and the one I am familiar with in Oklahoma City, OK.

so which is it you want to know about?

The operation in Oklahoma City was always reputable and the mortgage programs were actually offered through Midfirst Bank. Midland was the servicer for the portfolio of primarily government loans the bank kept. You can find some stuff on-line about problems people have had with them but there are also rebuttals to those complaints made by customers who are satisfied.

good luck.

I have an FHA Loan. Midland Mortgage (OK)bought mt loan from another company, I am currently in the early statges of foreclosure. Working it out with Midland Mortgage. Question: They want to collect from #3503.10 for payment and fees and do not guarantee me any new program, only the possibility of one. They contend that my FHA fixed rate is not a part of the stimulus package only conventional loans are; and that the are considering a special forebearance program for me. Is it true? Can they do this

Welcome Lillian,

If the lender has already started the foreclosure procedure, then he will not give you an alternative program. If the the lender has not started the foreclosure process, then you can apply for a loan modification and try to save the property.

Did they explain the special forbearance plan to you? As far as I know, with the forbearance, the lender would either suspend or reduce your payments for few months. Then he would give you a repayment plan to pay off the dues. In this repayment plan, your past dues will be added. In my opinion this would be a good plan to save your property.

SOMEONE IN THE MIDLAND MORTGAGE FORUM SAID THAT MIDLAND AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE LIKE HITLER.

WELL, LET ME TELL ALL OF YOU SOMETHING. THEY ARE GETTING READY TO MEET THEIR MATCH .

PERSONALLY, I HAVE NOT DONE BUSINESS WITH THEM, BUT I HAVE LOVED ONES THAT HAVE.

THEY DON'T WANT TO WORK WITH PEOPLE TO HELP THEM SAVE THEIR HOMES, AND HAVE GIVEN THEM EVERY STUPID , LAME EXCUSE THAT COMES DOWN THE PIPE.

DON'T KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE WATCHED TYLER PERRY'S MOVIES.

BUT IF YOU CAN ENVISION A "WHITE MADEA", THAT IS WHO I AM.

I WILL FIGHT LEGALLY AND HARD TO BE SURE THE RIGHT THING IS DONE AND I WILL MAKE THOSE THAT DON'T WANT TO COOPERATE
WISH THEY HAD NEVER HEARD MY NAME. NOT A THREAT MY FRIENDS, BUT A PROMISE. AND I AM NOT TALING ABOUT ANYTHING SILLY LIKE BODILY HARM. I AM TALKING ABOUT THE GIFTS THE GOOD LORD GOD HAS GIVEN ME TO GET ACTION WHERE ACTION IS NEEDED. I INTEND TO
MAKE USE OF ALL THE GIFTS. AND I TELL YOU, IF GOD IS FOR ME, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE OTHER GUY THINKS, SAYS OR DOES.

Hi JUSTICE ANGEL,

It seems that you are preparing to fight a court case against Midland Mortgage Company. You want to stand by those people who have been facing the wrong behavior of the mortgage company. Hope you are sucessful in your attempt and I wish you all the best.

well, angel, if you have the Lord on your side, you're right - it won't matter who the enemy is. i hope you tone down your ire a little bit, though, and surmise that doing so will help you be more successful.

if you research midland mortgage co, you might see alot of negative comments on various website about the company/broker, however you have to evaluate during this period of the economy there were alot of foreclosures for various reasons and as terrible of a situation it is to be in a foreclosure situation, a few people chose to post negative comments about the company. so i would take those comments/feedback with a grain of salt.

as a recent customer of midland that was not in foreclosure or default, my mortgage was current and my mortgage was sold to them from my previous lender which i was happy with, so i did not chose them. i can sincerly say that i would not recommend them to any family or friend of mine.
i felt they were difficult to contact, had expressed in writing alot of shady practices and did not offer me an opportunity to refinance since they were only restricting the refinancing to 2 states. so in less than a year with them i refinanced with a lender that has a better reputation. eventhough, i was able to refinance at a lower interest rate, i cut 5 years off my current mortgage that i had with them and lowered my mortgage payment over 30% and eliminated any worries of dealing with their shady practices.
as far as, contacting their customer service and actually being able to talk to person is dificult and have to go thru approx 5-8 minutes of automantion prompts, and when do you reach someone you get inconsitent answers to questions and any requests that you make might or might not be processed on the first call. when i did call, often i would be greeted with an automation system that some male has recorded his voice in a screaming and angry voice. it really scared the hell out me and started to give me an unfavorable opinion about them.
as far as shady practices, they raised my escrow portion of the mortgage by 75% which increased my mortgage payment by 35% for no apparent reason; keep in mind this is a fixed intrest loan, since there was no change in insurance premium or taxes, instead it was the opposite my insurace was lowered by 50% and my taxes had decreased by 10%, so this did not make sense to me, until they sent me a statement that they were charging me an escrow reserve charge. why? who knows. another shady practice was when i switched insurance company i spoke with a csr and was told that i would have to pay out pocket, which i did, so what did they do? they paid the new insurance company, why? a week later they wrote to me that they did not know i was carrying 2 insurance companies on my property, i was like huh? two weeks later i got a poorly written letter threating that i should pay them the all refunded insurance monies i recieved to them, without any specific dollar amount. they just wanted it all. it would make more sense for them to write a profesional letter stating "we made a mistake, your escrow account will be short this amount, please pay this amount.
anyways, i feel relieved that i will no longer be their customer and yet another chapter starts of when will i get my mortgage escrow back to me, since it has been several weeks i refinanced just to get away from them. i hope they improve and it sounds like that they might be changing to better their image, but if you ask me today what i think about them? "run as fast as you can and do not look back"
