Do you accept Section 8 Vouchers.
Section 8 Voucher program is a housing assistance program for low-income renters. The renters are offered financial assistance for rent payments, that is, their monthly rent payments are lowered.

The Voucher pays for an amount higher than 30% of the adjusted monthly income of a renter up to a set payment amount.

Greetings Karen,

To answer your question, a lot of investors accept Section 8 Vouchers for the simple reason that it helps guarantee they receive the rent payments that are due. In fact, many investors not only accept them, but prefer them.

Greetings Donna,

I don't know that I can be much help, as I personally don't deal with Section-8 properties or tenants. However, you may want to check out the following link, as this is a HUD program. The second link specifically addresses people with disabilities.

Hope this at least helps a little.

Hi Donna,

Welcome to the forum.

I can understand your situation very well and I shall try to help you to the best of my ability.

For the section 8 voucher, you need to apply at the Public Housing agency in your state. You need to have a certain income limit to qualify for the program. This limit is calculated each year by the HUD.

If you can tell me the state where you reside and the city, then I shall try to give you an idea about the income limit that is required there for section 8 vouchers. And, for any related information, you may just go through a previous discussion on Section 8 Voucher Program.

Hope you get along well.

God bless you.

Samantha

Which website would I look up to tell me the rules of extending the expiration date on a section 8 voucher from a hud program

Hi,

If you want to extend the section 8 voucher, you have to apply before the voucher expires. The housing authorities might give you a one or two 30 days extension but the decision depends on them. If you are denied, you cannot appeal to that. If you require extension due to some disability, you can always appeal the denial.

You may also get an extension if you can show that you have been trying hard to find a place to live.

latoya, this is not a forum that deals with section 8 questions. you ought to direct your question to the city or town in which you originally applied. there, you will find an answer to your questions, i'm sure.
