if i do a quit claim deed since the mortage still shows in my name can it still be taken away from me?
Hi Sherrystone,

Is the mortgage in default?

if you quit claim, only title ownership is transferred but the mortgage will remain in your name. through refinance the mortgage can be transferred in the name of the person you have quit claimed the house.

Sherry, I would suggest that you let the lender know that you want to quit claim the house to someone else that is necessary as the lender has a mortgage over it.

Welcome Sherry,

The quit claim will not help you to get away from the loan. It can only transfer your interest in property to some other individual. But the loan will remain in your name until and unless you pay it off.
