They contacted my husband about a home loan claiming to be based out of new york. I can't find any info about them on the web. The person my husband spoke gave my husband this website to check out "centralpf.com" which doesn't provide too much info. My husband filled out something on lending tree about a month ago, that's how this person got our information. He told my husband that he was approved for a 12 yr. fixed 100,000 loan, which when you do the math with interest comes out to almost 150,000 US dollars. My instinct is giving off bad vibes about this situation....he also said that the down payment would be 4000 and that they don't take payments by phone. He said we could either wetsern union or send the payment by cashiers check. He also said that they work with several different lenders to find you a loan. I am going to call this person back and speak with him myself, because this doesn't sound right to me. He also called from an unknown number but he did leave an 800- number plus ext for us to call back.
Me and my hubby are first time home buyers and we don't want to get scammed by anyone. I probably won't even bother calling him back because i'm not cormfortable with this at all.

Okay this would be a personal loan from this company and not a home loan.

I haven't found any information about the company when I googled it. In my opinion, it won't be a good option to go with the company and get a loan from them. Rather you can contact your local lenders and apply for loans. You can speak to the lenders and get an idea about the rates and terms that you would receive.

You can even seek a no obligation free mortgage consultation from the lenders of this community and check out whether or not you would get a loan.

Seems that they have been caught, their website says it has been closed due to illegal activites...LMAO I am sure glad none of us sent any monies to these scammers...Ya'll have a good night..

I had my paperwork faxed over to me yesterday they look leget and I called them this morning and they said they'd have a new web site up later today, someone had hacked into their site so they had to close it. They told me to call back later and get what their new site is and this was from their customer service department.

I too was contacted by this company this week. Same phone number, ext 373, by Richard Keane. Also wants collateral money up front for a personal loan. I have tried BBB, New York directory assistance, and searched many sites trying to find out about this company. I am suspicious too. I did get a contract faxed to me. Has anyone actually received a loan from them?

Come on you guys...have you noticed a trend here? Most everyone is skeptical...go with that! Your first sense is that it's too good to be true...right? Well guess what! These companies that call you up to tell you that you've been approved for a personal loan of thousands of dollars are scam artists! Forget that they want you to send them money upfront - you ought to recognize the scam as soon as they call you? Has anyone legitimate that you know offered you thousands of dollars without even knowing who you are?

It's shameful that companies exist like this, but it's equally shameful that people's naivete leads them down the proverbial garden path to destruction.

Please wake up and smell the coffee...as Clark Howard continually says, "if it sounds to be good to be true, then you probably shouldn't bother with it." (I paraphrase)

So their website is back up and running today. So I read their privacy policy. At the bottom of the privacy policy it gives an email address. "centralparkfinancialservices.org" I typed that in my web browser and was directed to a site that is for Atlantic Capital Financial Services. I then did a google search on this company only to find out the responses I got were not good. Apparently from what I can gather the FTC shut down this group due to fraud and scams. Poof they got caught once and 2 weeks later they are using another name somewhere else. I hope people research some online and come across this and it stops them from getting scammed.
