Is midland mortgage a good or bad company are there any class action suits against them for home mortgages
I had lost my job for 2 to 3 years and I was trying to keep my payments on time to change out of Midland Mortage.

I just found out Midland Mortgage (OK) has me down as a 30 late payment because the payment did not make it there when they had BAD weather and the mail was not deliveried.
This the only late payment in my last year

Any one know of a good mortgage company I can work with???

hi lsmith,

you've mentioned that you lost your job 2-3 years ago. are you employed now? if you do not have a job, then you won't be able to refinance the loan with any other company. if you're employed right now, then you can speak to the local lenders of your area and apply for a refinance. you can even speak to the lenders of this community and seek a no obligation free mortgage consultation which will help you know whether or not you would be able to get a refinance.

take care.

Midland Mortgage Company, mortgage loan servicer of MidFirst Bank, in collusion with other entities engaged in illegal foreclosure actions against people who work hard and pay on time. I know that people like a certain poster using a single identifying letter to identify themselves (though not 'X' or 'Z' for say Zorro) appear to be employed by this group of racketeers purely for the purpose of attempting to undermine their victims' credibility. After my mortgage was bought by Midland Mortgage Company from First Horizon, Midland Mortgage Company will return monthly payment and implement late charges Indicating that the payment did not cover the required amount. Merrily to force or manufactured grounds for foreclosure by for example pocketing payments instead of crediting them to the mortgage-account.

In 2003, in the Montgomery County Circuit Court for the State of Alabama. Regions Mortgage Co., Midland Mortgage Co. and Midfirst Bank as co-defendants lost a lawsuit for the foreclosure of a family home of a disable child. (Benton vs. Regions Mortgage Co., Midland Mortgage Co. and Midfirst Bank). The co-defendants lost on the charges of negligence and wanton conduct. Midland Mortgage Co. and Midfirst Bank appealed to the State of Alabama Civil Appeals Court and lost the appeal. Midland Mortgage Co. and Midfirst Bank than appealed to the State of Alabama Supreme Court. The State of Alabama Supreme Court turned down the appeal. The law firm who won this case is the Birmingham Alabama firm of Wiggins, Childs, Quinn & Pantazis.

Midland purchased my loan from GMAC in 2008. We were 30 days late with one payment a year later. Midland does send pay statements as reminders. They did prompt us of our oversight with, a phone call, text, e-mail or letter. We realized the oversight when we were paying the next monts rent and paid both. They charged us the late fee and reported us to the credit institution. A call to them to help rectify the negative credit history was unpleasant and in short, they refused to help us. There should be consequences for not following the rules, and they are correct that they have no obligation to assist, however there is theof the rules. I would argue that one oversight is not the spirit or intent to hurt someos credit history and negate a positive credit rating. Unfortunately, I just separated from the military, am a disabled veteran of over 20 years service and searching for employment. I am attempting to restructure my financial situation but this one report by Midland is preventing a large part of it. Knowing the state of America and my personal situation did not sway them to help. be refinancing with someone else the first chance I get!

Guest, you probably realize how many thousands of borrowers that such a company is servicing. To single you out and eliminate the mar on your credit isn't an easy thing to do, especially when you're dealing with whatever bureaucracy they operate under.

I am not affiliated with Midland in any way, shape or form, so please don't think I'm just an apologist for them. But what you're asking is for a favor that they probably don't see requested very often. They likely don't even have the wherewithal to do what you've requested. And, as you noted, they're in the collection business, and it's not exactly customer service. Their being unpleasant isn't good business sense, but it's not exactly unprecedented in that line of work either (no excuse, though!).

Maintain your payment habits as you have regularly done so, and that blight will eventually be lessened. Time heals all wounds, after all. It's too bad you are being penalized for a mere oversight, but that's what generally happens in cases like this.

Midfland Mortgage should have a lawsuit against them. I am in the process of losing my home mostly because of them. If you get into trouble with them they will not work with you. They constantly say they have no programs for you and the numbers that the government gave us to call. They figure out a plan and submit it to company on your behalf Midland will turn down every single one of them. Please if any one knows if there is a lawsuit against them I would love to join it.

RUN! Midland Mortgage has been the worst experience of our life. Although we are current on all payments and have requested our insurance money be returned for work completed on our house...we are still waiting. One contractor has waited 10 months for payment!

Our advice. RUN! RUN! RUN!

I wish I had checked out the company a bit more, thankfully I only had a deposit account through them.

On the other hand, my personal experience is that their Regional Manager for the Tulsa Area, a Mr. Elliot, enjoys getting down-right-mean on the telephone, and also offering up non-sensical gibberish if he doesn't like your question.

My phone number is 202-747-8752, and I routinely bore telemarketers to death, but feel free to call for any decent matter.

Nick, inviting anyone to call you at that number noted above is an outrage. The area code emanates from Washington, DC, and it appears (in a Google search) on all of those infamous "who called me" sites where the public can complain about the robo-calls that come in.

And it's pretty clear that anyone claiming to have an asset account (only) held with a mortgage company can't even lie correctly.

My home loan is from Midland, it's the Company from Hell!!! They don't CARE if you are unemployed are sick. They just want their money and are OUT OF TOUCH with the financial crisis too many Americans are facing today. Being that I live from paycheck to paycheck, Midland don't even have online payment options. You have to pay $15 to pay by phone or $20 if a representative help take your money. Taking your mortgage and fees are the only HELP you will get from these ROBBER BARRONS. It's a NIGHTMARE DEALING THESE PEOPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if I'd want to classify them as the "Company from Hell" when it seems the majority of their misgivings is contacting a borrower (or trying to) on a regular basis, and requiring a fee to be paid for the payment transaction, likely done through an outside vendor.

I say that because, like EL, I pay my mortgage by telephone every month and I face the same thing. Do I enjoy paying my $16+? Of course not...but because my income is less than it used to be, and because my job status has been spotty for a while, I'm not current; and that's the only way they'll do business. Do they call a lot? Sure, but that's only a true bother when you actually get on the phone with them.

My company is not Midland, it's AHMSI, and I suspect that if we polled all the customers of them as well as the other lenders, we'd find that the complaints are all similar and that the issues are probably similar too.

I'm glad they let you pay by phone - I remember trying to avoid a simple little late charge by using USPS 2-day mail, and it didn't get there on time anyway.

Google Search " Midland Mortgage Complaint" - Then decide for yourself! They are the WORST company I have ever dealt. We have excellent credit and paid off a mortgage .... a nightmare!

One of Midland game is to call and say you missed a payment years in the past, then before you can get the info needed to prove other wise you'll get a foreclosure notice. I had thirty days to fight it. Cost me $2,500. I left them for my bank, they said Midland is the worse company they ever worked with.
