Wyndham Capital Mortgage - Reviews about the company

Posted on: 01st May, 2008 12:47 pm
I.m currently shopping for a loan and would like to know if Wyndham Capital Mortgage is trustworthy.
I am experienecing a similar situtation - and have been working with them for over 2 months now. My frustration lies with the fact that the rate they quoted me is no longer available if I wanted to go with another bank. They assured me that the rate was locked and things were on the right track. I'm going to contact them on Monday

As I said before, the loan fall through. They said it was because I wrote the date wrong on one paper. I wrote, '90' put a line through it, initialed it, and wrote '09'. So after a bait and switch tactic did not work, they offered me the original loan and sent the Notary Public back out to resign the new paperwork. Since I did not need the money, I decided to make a mistake on the new a document just to see if that would cause this contract to be invalid too. Surprise! Surprise! My error went completely unnoticed and the loan went through.

Stay away from Wyndham Capital Mortgage!!!

so even though you've been burnt, you're now made whole with the loan you desired? i guess there's a mixed blessing in there somewhere.
even so, it's pretty evident you'd never do business with them again nor suggest others do.

I would highly suggest that other stay away from these people! I wonder how many other companies try to pull that stunt on people. I was lucky that I was not in need of the money. I wanted it, I had plans for it, but I could have walked away and only been out the $350 I spent on the appraisal.

I received a letter in the mail from Wyndham Capital Mortgage saying, we are sorry the road to the loan was so rocky, but here are some business cards to hand out to your friends and family. LOL!

concerned, how did you make out?
Posted on: 15th Jun, 2009 10:58 am
undoubtedly you've already begun circulating those business cards, right? Hah!

not in defense of them, but it's honestly a pretty miserable road to travel these days - the mortgage process road.

I can understand a lot. I was not in a hurry, I wasn't putting any pressure on them. Had they kept me informed in a timely manner, I would have been fine. They had 3 different people asking me for the same information over a two week period. The second two, I replied with, "Here it is again, I sent it to so and so on this date."

I truly believe that they were watching the rates and when they jumped, they figured they had me over a barrel. Had the rates gone down, my "huge mistake" would have went as unnoticed as my intentional error did on the second set of papers. Had they flagged the second one, they would have gain some credibility.

The only circulating those business cards did was around the rim of my trash can.

I actually closed with them in 14days and had nothing but excellent service. I am sure Beenburnt you are the exception. Lenders these days are very picky about their docs. If you made a mistake on the documents than Wyndham did not make the decision for you to resing, it would have been the lender. Which I am sure was the lender that had the lowest rate at that time. Wyndham is a broker company and could have went with a different company and gave you a higher rate but I am sure jsut as anyone would have done you wanted the lowest rate on the market, which in the last 2 weeks has gone up to 5.875%. So I think we were lucky no matter how much trouble your loan was it still has will be a great decission you made.

The lender sent the package back because you put 90 in the date and not 09. Happens all the time right......????? Not really it doesn't. Yes we lost our lock and NO I didn't have to keep your loan at the exact same terms because I lost what little commission I was making. In the end I felt bad that you made a mistake and took up for you. Now I see my name in lights here. Thanks.

I received this email from Daniel Webb:

"The lender sent the package back to us again because of the date problem. I explained that you obviously have dyslexia and couldn't have possibly made that mistake twice. If we need a Dr.'s note about that condition do you think you could provide one?"

I sure hope you can get the money back from Wells Fargo and Chartway! Otherwise, you email is just harassment.

I have put a lock on my credit due to these people. I sure hope people learn from my experiance.

The fact is, I am dyslexic. Terribly so. I am sure that I am not the first dyslexic that signed paperwork for a mortgage.

undoubtedly that last statement must be true, b/b.

can't this whole ugly story just end?
Posted on: 17th Jun, 2009 08:57 am
can't this whole ugly story just end? Sure can. My mission was to warn people and I believe that I have do that. Also, if you do send your personal information to a company that you become suspicious of, lock your credit reports! It is cheap and easy to do. It is probably a good idea anyway. If you need credit, you can make an exception for a company for a specific amount of time. Good luck all.

Mr. Webb sent me another email:

"Misunderstanding....wrong loan"

Interesting! I wonder how many people within the last month wrote 90 then cross it out, initialed it then wrote 09, on one of his forms? From his earlier post, I thought my dyslexic error was highly unusual.

I am just starting with them - the agent is Travis Rhulle. I have refinanced 5 times in my life and this guy seems as knowledgeable as the rest. I have not been bounced around. (Yet). He got the appraisal set up quickly. I got all the paperwork in 2 days.
