i don't share my ss# with anyone, but it from a law firm I assuming trying to collect a debt and they needed to verify my last four digits
If you're certain they're legitimate in attempting to collect your debt, then the last 4 digits of your SS number ought not to bring you additional grief, unless you count the collection effort itself as additional grief.
