Credit Repair

Are there any companies out there that will help you fix your credit. I have some erroneous info and even have letters to prove it. However, I submit it to all the bureaus. Everyone deleted the erroneous info except experian. They will not remove the item at all even though I provided the letters
if there is only 1 agency...then you dont need to hire a credit repair company.

continue sending the letters.....make a formal complaint with the FTC.
Sometimes the proof required is a document with the creditor's letterhead.

one of the best ways to dispute is to do it online...
When you receive an updated report...Call them and tell them what's going on.

Also, they may UPDATE the item...but if you dont have a letter from the creditor saying that they will 'remove' it...then Experian will not remove it.

I do have a letter on their letter head that states the account is not mine.
When speaking with Experian they said they "verified" the item belonged to me. I asked them to provide details of who they spoke with. They would not disclose it. I spoke directley to the person that wrote the letter and she indicted to me that Experian never called them to verify.

file a report with the FTC.
call experian again...and give them the contact info you have.
Speak to a supervisor....tell them you're going to take them to court.
Ask them for a fax number ...and tell them you're going to fax over the information right now.

I would also have that company contact Experian. I would tell them that they report you, and you're taking them to court if they dont fix it.

I dont think I can take them to court. They are a court! They stated they did not report any information to experian and they never report info to credit bureaus. They said if the credit bureaus have the info it is erroneous. All they provided me was a letter stating that the account was not mine and it was up to experian to remove it. The other two bureaus do not show this at all. They were much easier to deal with. Now I cant even get Experian on the phone. Their phone system is automated and they want you to dispute online. However, I cant dispute online because when I try it says "you already disputed this item and it was verified that it belongs to you"
Unreal!

Hello Billhynes,

This is really a difficult situation. I think you may seek help from the creditor and request them to contact Experian directly. You have to be present in the situation and I hope this works out.

Otherwise you may contact a credit repair consultant and see if he may suggest some other options.

bill, i gather that when you say "they are a court" that means that this was some sort of judgment or lien that appears on the report. if so, they are correct in saying that they don't provide information to experian. since court news is public record, that would be how experian picked it up.

i think banker has given you the best advice, which is to contact the ftc to report the difficulties you're having with experian.

going to a "credit repair consultant" is going to cost you money - you can work this through the ftc, i believe, in a reasonable manner and for free. that makes sense.

Hi Bill,

Dont feel alone. I have a client who has several mistaken identity erronenous tradeline items on her credit report. To be clear, Experian have been putting someone elses information on my client's credit report causing her credit score drop. She is in the process of sending the letters to Experian. As Banker said report to the FTC and I will advise my client to do the same if she runs into that kind of problem.

Keep on Plugging
Jean
