I was turned over to a collection agency by a hospital even though i was making payments .before i was aware of being turned over i made my final payment by check which got lost in the mail meanwhile i found out about the collections agency and had to make a payment to stop this from going on my credit .so i stopped payment on the lost check and made a debit payment directly to the hospital and was un aware that they had reversed the payment untill just recently it has benn a year and i have tried to make the payment to the collection agency but they want to place on my report any way .Can they do that when i thought it was paid ?and i do have paper work to back all of this up.why do i have to pay for someone else mistake or error.I did pay the bill it just got reversed .
If you have paperwork go ahead and call them and dispute the situation. If you have proof that you paid on time then im sure they will not add it to ur credit report.
