A collection agency doubled my credit card debt which I had defaulted on 5 years ago. Do I have any recourse? I am waiting the 7 years for it to fall off...I can't pay it and am judgment proof.

The collection agency cannot simply double the the debt that you owe to them. If they have done so, then it will be considered as illegal. Consider taking legal help and try to sort out the matter.

It is sometimes seen that collection agencies are crossing their limits. Take proper legal help to get out of this mess.
