Consumer dispute on collection account

Posted on: 10th Apr, 2013 11:48 pm
I just don’t know what I should do now. My lender just called me and stated that they cannot proceed with the loan unless I get consumer disputes off of the only collection account I have with Equifax. When I called Equifax regarding this, they refused to remove the comments. The OC said it can take up to 30-45 days which I do not have I am supposed to close at the end of the month this account is suppose to fall off my credit report at the end of May. I offered to pay for deletion they refused. I filed complaints with whomever I could. I do not know why they are even looking at an old collection account that I had disputed ages ago.
It is true that most of the lenders will want you to remove the consumer dispute from your account and then they will approve you for the mortgage. You can once more negotiate for a pay for delete with the OC.

Welcome Barrington,

The lender must know that it will take some time to get the consumer disputes removed from your credit report. You should speak to him and check out if he is ready to offer you that period of time.
