Dispute and apply for new credit

Posted on: 14th Mar, 2012 03:17 am
Will it be better for my credit to dispute and apply for new credit simultaneously or to go through all the disputes first then rebuild?
I don't think it will be good option to dispute as well as apply for new credit at the same time. You should first dispute the negative items and remove them from your credit report and then apply for new loans.

Hi Sellom!

Welcome to forums!

I agree with Niicss' opinion. You should contact the credit bureaus and dispute all the concerned negative items and try to remove them from your credit report. Once the negative items are removed from your credit report, you may have to wait for 2-3 months in order to find any improvement in your credit report. Once you find the improvement, you can contact your lender and apply for new credit.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
