how can you get a credit score from 540 to 620 in 12 months
Well that totally depends on what is already showing on your credit reports tish.

If you have any lines of credit open that are near there credit limit just paying those balances down below half of your available credit will greatly increase your credit score.

It's just one tip but if you need some honest advice you will have to provide us with a little more information first.

You may go for a secured credit card, it surely helps raise your score. Also, you need need to understand that if you enquire for more than 1 loans and he fie gets declined, it may damge your score if you enquire hard. You may ask your debtor to raise your credit limits, this also have a positive impact on your score, rather it is the calculated that way in your scores. smckaybiz is right, on the credit limits.
You also need to ge your credit report and check for any negative remarks. You can ask them to remove if you find some scope.

Hi tish, Paying down your debt below 30% and paying your bills on time every month will help you achieve this goal. 12 months is a lot of time and you can do a lot to get your score to where you want it. Dont get too many hard pulls on your credit report. Dont apply for too many within the 12 months things like cc and loans will lower your score if you apply for too many.

what gary said makes sense. in addition, if you have negative information on your credit, you'll want to take care of those creditors as quickly as you are able.

Oh and yes thats correct george. Any late payments/ negative stuff on your credit report. Would be great if you can get it removed.

gary i wasn't talking about having negative/derogatory items removed. i was suggesting (apparently not strongly enough) that tish take care of them by actually paying them.

i know that paying one's debts is a novel concept for many, but it would be a nice thing to see happen.
