hi there… the mortgage on my property is not in my name. it is in the name of my grandmother. once i get my credit cleaned up we will want to get the loan in our name. but, how would that happen? would we have to mortgage it ourselves? i would like to do it to where it may be similar to a second mortgage so we can get a new air conditioning unit for the house and it would greatly help with our remodeling.
hi kurvy!
welcome to forums!
you will have to refinance your mortgage in order to get the loan transferred in your name. you can go for a cash out refinancing which will help you in cashing out the equity in your property which will help you buy the new air conditioning.
feel free to ask if you've further queries.

You must go to your mortgage lender in written and ask how you can make this happen. They will definitely resolve your issue.
**Do it as soon as possible, otherwise it can affect your credit score.

Hi kurvy,
Yes, it would be best to opt for cash out refinancing, which won't simply help you get the property and mortgage in your name, but also to have some cash in hand, which you can use to buy the AC!!! :)
