Hi there... I married few months back and after that came to know that she has lots of medical bills and student loans. I just need to know whether or not her creditors can come after me to recover her debts? All our accounts are seperate. We don’t have any joint cards even
Hi Billy!
Welcome to forums!
As you're not on the debts that your wife had incurred, you won't be liable for anyone of them. Thus, your wife's creditors won't be able to come after you in order to recover her debts.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

You will not be responsible for the medical bills and students loans that your wife owe. So, her creditors can't chase you legally.
However, if the debts are incurred after legal marriage and if the state where you belong to is a community property state, then you will be responsible for paying down the debts. In that case, your wife's creditors can chase you also for debt recovery.
