Rebuilding credit

Posted on: 16th Jan, 2012 11:53 pm
I am in process of rebuilding my credit. When I checked I have 2 items that are showing a 0 balance and a 0 past due balance. Experian, in its last statement has stated that the outcome is "remains" so I am not sure why if there is no information on these 2 accounts why it is still on there. Should I send the CA a DV letter? I have also read about disputing old address and other information on credit report. Experian said that they are not going to do anything about it and even if I dispute it again, I will not get an explanation. What is the best way to get that information taken off?
Make sure you know your current credit score. You may qualify for a unsecured credit card.

Hi Perry,

If you have paid off the debts, then the accounts will show zero balance. Moreover, Experian should investigate and remove any wrong information that is mentioned in your credit report. You can actually threaten to sue them for reporting wrong information on your credit report. If a wrong address is mentioned in your credit report, then they are opening you up to potential identity theft or file mixing.

Thanks,

Jerry
