CREDIT CARD REMOVAL AFTER THEY HAVE SOLD IT TO A COLLECTION

Posted on: 13th Mar, 2009 11:47 am
Will a credit card co remove it self of my credit report if it has charged it off and sold it to a collection agency if i write to them and asked. The collection agency and the credit company are both on my report.
Hi drillboy!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, as the credit card company has charged off the debts, it should not remain on your credit report. Rather, only the collections should be reported to the credit bureau. If both report the same account to the credit bureaus, then it becomes a duplicate. I would suggest you to contact the credit bureau and remove the credit card company from your credit report.
