I disputed an item over 4 times (with the creditor and the bureau) in a year and the statement "disputed item" remains on my report. My question is: When is the bureau suppose to remove the bureau statement "disputed" as resolved? I thought it was 30 days.
Hi dirthacampbell,
I haven't heard of any specified time period mentioned within which the credit bureaus have to remove the "disputed" status from your credit report. However, as you disputed only a single item mentioned in your credit report, the credit bureau should remove the "disputed" status within a month. In case, the number of disputed items are more, then the credit bureaus may take some more time to remove the "disputed " status from your credit report.
Thanks
