Satisfied judgment????

Posted on: 03rd Jul, 2012 02:40 am
I just got my CR today. There is a satisfied judgment on there that was filed in 2007, and satisfied in 2009. It is for $870 from Crap 1… WHAT THE HECK?!? How can there be a judgment if I was never notified or served?!? What does it mean that it was filed in 07 then satisfied in 09?
Hi Dickk,

You should have been served with summons so that you could have replied to it and presented your case. It is strange that you did not receive any summons. Satisfied judgment means that you have paid off the judgment in full.

Thanks,

Jerry

Maybe it is not your account and not your judgment.

Call the credit bureau and see if the account is yours.

It is unusual to have a judgment on ones credit report and not even know they had such an account that could have resulted in a judgment.

It is even more unusual that you do not remember paying it in 2009 so that it was satisfied.

Sounds like it's a mistake, and you need to dispute it with the credit bureau's.
