Timeshare default

Posted on: 21st Sep, 2012 12:25 am
I had a timeshare on which I defaulted on April 2007 due to some hard financial circumstances. However, its showing on my credit report as a foreclosure for the amount of $19,295, I found out that it got resold for $24,300. Is there anything I can do to try to remove this from my credit report?
Hi Guest,

If the property was foreclosed, then there is hardly anything that you can do. It will remain mentioned in your credit report for 7 years like any other negative item.

Thanks

Welcome Guest,

You can contact the lender and negotiate with them and check if they are ready to remove the item from your credit report. It will be completely their discretion whether or not the lender will consider your request.
