I successfully completed my chapter 13 over a year ago and after my chapter 13 was discharged I disputed a few balances that weren't correct and they were quickly remedied. Now... 2013 one of my creditors (truck loan) of which was paid/completed (title released) is now popped up with a balance showing. Do I have to continue to buy current credit reports continue address these issues "every time they pop up"?
You can't help but have to contact the credit bureaus to rectify the matter. If you have the proper papers which mention the discharge of the debt, it will be easier for you to get the correct status updated on your credit report.
Hi Jenna,
I don't think they will pop up again if you take steps to update the correct status in your credit report once. As Niicss has suggested, you should inform the credit bureaus about the wrong status and send them the required documents to update the items.
Thanks
