QuitClaim or Bill of Sale

Posted on: 07th Jun, 2006 12:15 pm
My mother passed away last week and before she died she hand wrote a Quitclaim Deed for the house we have been living in as I have been taking care of her for the past ten years. I didn't file the paper right away and don't know if I'll have a problem getting the house into my name now that she has died. I also have a hand wriiten Bill of Sale. Which should I use to get the house into my name?
Hi Dan,

If you have signed a document mentioning the fact and got it recorded, then you will be liable for paying the balance mortgage amount.

Thanks

I am a agent for the family, for mineral rights, on land in WV, I would like to transfer these rights to my brother who lives in OK. I live in PA.

Hi russ,

You should get in touch with a real estate attorney and he will help you in knowing how you can get the rights transferred in your brother's name.

Thanks
