early in 2009 my husband and i were granted a bankruptcy discharge under chapter 7. our mortgage was also included in the filing and the balance now states $0 on our credit report. we were behind in payments before filing bankruptcy and that stopped the foreclosure process. shortly after the discharge, we voluntarily surrendered the house and moved out. in terms of buying another home, do i have to list the prior mortgage as a foreclosure? my credit score is now at 650 post bankruptcy.
i have pulled my credit report and there is no foreclosure listed. only that the balance on the mortgage is $0 and discharged.
where does it say specifically that the house was foreclosed on? i checked the public records and negative comments portion and there is absolutely nothing there.

you might want to go straight to the credit repositories with this question. also, check your own title history with your town/county.
