Renovations incomplete on home going into forecloseure

Posted on: 29th Apr, 2012 08:37 pm
My home is going into forcloseure. I started to remodel one of the bathrooms and after gutting it out found out I could not afford to finish it, at the time this didn't seem like a problem as we had another full bathroom in the house. We were able to put in a shower stale and toilet before we ran into financial problems. The home is now going into forcloseure and my question is, am I responsible to finish this bathroom.....it needs a sink, faucet, lights, medicine cabinet? I don't have the money and that is all that needs to be done to finish the bathroom.
Please advise me.
Thank You,
Susan
Hi Daisylusue,

Well, if you could not afford to improve the bathroom financially, then you can let your lender know about it. Both of you will have to come up with some option in order to sort out the issue.

Hi Daisylusue,

It will be your lender's discretion as to whether or not you need to complete the renovation work. You should inform the lender that you won't be able to finish the work and check out his opinion in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
