2nd Loan sold off to Debt collections

Posted on: 09th Feb, 2010 09:36 am
So I couldn't afford my home any longer and the rates will be adjusting soon. So I decided to stop paying seeing as eventually I can't afford it and they won't help you with your loan till you have defaulted. The first mortgage hasn't even contacted me with a real person and it has been 7-8 months. The second was quick to contact me but i told them i was waiting for the first to figure out what they wanted to do.

In this wait time the Second seems to have sold the debt to a collector. What do i do now? what action can the collection agency do to me?

I am a poor freaking teacher just trying to scrap by and now i am going to have a shit credit and a debt collector on my ass. I know this is my own doing for the most part but freak.
Does anyone have advise??? In serious need of help.
Hi,

As your second lender has sent the debt to collections, the collection agency will now be coming after you for the mortgage debt. They will harass you and ask you to pay off the debt. If you do not pay it off, the agency may try and get a judgment against you and can garnish your wages.

So what should i do to be proactive about dealing with the debt agency?

Also, the loans have some fraud involved with them. There are jobs listed on it that i have never worked and have never even heard of. Will this help with anything?

Please let me know if you have any info or advise
thank you so much
