origination fee is considered as a point and is, therefore a tax deductible item. an underwriting fee is not considered tax deductible.

hmmm ...origination fee means a fee charged to a borrower especially for a mortgage loan to cover the costs of initiating the loan.... so its consider as deduction .... and A charge levied by money lenders to offset their expenses incurred to set up the mortgage loan is a underwriting fee.. so you cant deduct that amount ..
