Sharing property with fiance

Posted on: 01st Sep, 2006 04:59 pm
Me and my fiance currently live in an apartment together, he just bought a house for us to share, but since I will be living there with him and paying half the mortgage and bills what would be the best way to assure my interest in the property. I would like all the steps that I should follow.

Time is soon approaching, and I refuse to move in with him, unless I\'m fully vested.

God Bless You, :(
Hi,

A viable option can be that your fiance quit claims to include you in the house.

let me add that quit claim will only transfer share of interest.

both of you should sign the quit claim deed form, which would be prepared by an attorney, get it signed and stamped by a notary public.

then after the deed is recorded at land records office also called the count recorder's office, the deed will be valid for you to put a claim on the house in future if the need arises.

thanks

You can have a look at this page for all other details about quit claim deeds.

Do let us know if you find any of the terms difficult to understand, we would be happy to help you out.

Hi guest,

Your fiance can quit claim a certain share of interest in the property to you. But the transfer through this deed is not guaranteed, so it is better to secure your interest through a warranty deed or a title deed. By any of these deeds, you will not only get a share of interest as in quit claim but also the ownership rights on a certain part of the property.

Thanks,

Sara.
