Hi Anthony,

In addition to what Henry said I would like to add that you should get the deed notarized and recorded properly to be valid.

Details about how to properly make the quit claim deed are available in this article, kindly go through it to know about the actual steps you have to take in this regard.

Thanks
Colin

Hi Anthony,

In most buying and selling transactions, the property title is transferred through a warranty deed which implies transfer of clear title, that is, title is free from any liens or debts. Know more about it from our section on Warranty Deed.

Thanks,

Caron.

'adding name to real estate deed'
'how do i add name'

wm heil, you will have to make a new deed to add any person to title of the house. You can use a quit claim deed for this purpose.

Welcome Chist,

If you wish to put your name back on the deed after quitclaiming the property, you will have to ask the person to whom you quitclaimed to transfer it back to you. This means that you have cancel the first quitclaim and go for another. But this will only happen if the person who received the property is willing to quitclaim it back to you.
