file complaint for discrimination

Posted on: 13th Dec, 2006 10:55 am
please provide the time period within which I can file a complaint under section 504 for discrimination based on disability.
Hi Selmer,

You will have to file the complaint against the discrimination you have faced within 180 as per Section 504.

The complaint you will make is be considered to be received on the date HUD will actually receive it or if you mail it then it will be considered to have been received on the date it is postmarked.

Thanks

Hi Selmer,

You can file the compliant by mailing it to any of the HUD Offices or at the HUD headquarters. You can find the address of HUD offices from this page: http://www.hud.gov/localoffices.cfm

After 10 days HUD will send you a notification that it has received the complaint. The notification will be sent to both you as the complainant and the recipient of the complaint.

Hi Selmer,

Let me tell you that you will have to submit the complaint on HUD-903 Complaint Form or the HUD Housing Discrimination Information Form.

You complaint is to be made so as to contain the following information:
  1. Your name and address.
  2. Name & address of the discriminating individual or organization.
  3. The kind of discrimination, its description and the date when the discrimination occured.
You may rest assured that HUD will keep your identity confidential or will only disclose it when it will be required to do so to carry out the provisions of the enforcement and Section 504 regulations.

Hope this will be helpful for you.

Thanks
Blue
