can't close on home purchase because of judgment

Posted on: 08th Feb, 2007 08:35 pm
We thought we were about to close on our home purchase when the bank called and said there was a judgment form Midland Credit Management from 2002. It is in the amount of $5000. We do not know what this is from and do not remember a judgment being filed against us. Unfortunately we may lose the home we thought we were going to close on any day because we don\'t have an extra $5000 to pay off this judgment. We are very upset! Do you have any suggestions? WE are desperate! thanks so much for your time.
Hi sarabethlong,

Welcome to the forums.

I guess you haven't ever dealt with Midland Credit Management. Then how come they bring up a judgment against you. And, that too $5000 when you are about to close on the loan.

Well, since you are very close to getting your new home, I think you should tell the bank all about it. If possible let the bank officials and the company have face to face meeting in your presence.

I don't find any other way of finding a solution to this problem except your face to face interaction between the bank and the company officials.

Thanks

Is this judgment appearing in your credit report? And if was in 2002, you must have checked your report in these years, didn't you notice anything before?
