HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT LENDER FOR ME?
Hi Archie,

You need to rely on referrals to choose the right lender for your mortgage. Ask you family members, friends, relatives etc. if they know of any good lender in your area. If they have had good relationship with a particular lender, they will refer you to them. You can check out the rates and terms they have to offer you on the loan. If you think they are offering a good deal, you can go for the loan. However, you should also check whether the lender has proper certification and licenses to do business in your state.

hen I am ill I dont find a new doctor. I dont change accountants every year. A mortgage should be the same. Start with a lending institution that you have a relationship with. If you have a first mortgage call them first. I am a very large supporter of building relationships with professionals. If you are comfortable with your local banker contact them next. Remember a mortgage, regardless if it is a first mortgage an equity line or equity loan this is one of the largest purchase that most Americans will make. If you are not getting what you want dont be pushed into the transaction. ,,,,,,,,,

apparently obtaining a mortgage is nothing like getting ill. i thoroughly agree with your point, kas. however, what we find in practice is completely different than the theory would hold it to be. we can work with a client for a year, sometimes two, making $NEGATIVE, if you consider it on a houly basis; only to have that client make a frivolous choice about a new lender.

the public is fickle - i should have put that in bold, italics and caps. the public doesn't think about its bankers, loan officers, etc. like they do their doctors.

and there's no doubt it's all about relationships. usually, after having cast their lot with a stranger, they'll come back with at least one horror story. and yet we listen!

It is not so easy task to choose lender.Choose your lender carefully. Look for financial stability and a reputation for customer satisfaction. It is imporatant that the lender choosen by you should provide right advice and help you in taking right decesions and also they should provide comfort.
