House was vandalized while foreclosing

Posted on: 09th Mar, 2011 04:07 am
What happened if the my house was vandalized during the process of foreclosing. I filed a bankruptcy and moved out the house after the bank dropped the ball and decide to foreclose my house abruptly. Later the house was vandalized and a lot of thing were taken out of the house. Will the bank come after me? What is the consequency if the bank decide to come after me.

My bankruptcy was dischaged in January and the latest forclosure date (sale date) scheduled on this coming April 5, 2011.

Thanks for your answer and solution.
I'd file a police report for the vandalism, then that would probably be enough proof if the bank ever accuses you of ruining the property before you moved out. Foreclosed homes get vandalized all of the time, so it's something that the banks are very used to. I'm not a lawyer so this isn't legal advice, just my opinion.

If I should file a police report, will the police come and inspect the property? To tell you the truth, I removed some of my appliances and cabinets prior to be vandalized. What should I prepare for this case?

Thanks

I'd contact an attorney.
