I am a UK resident - a pensioner with previous health problems. I cannot meet my mortgage repayments on a property I own in Florida as the rental income is insufficient. Will the mortgage company be likely to chase me for the mortgage shortfall when they foreclose?
maybe, but probably not.
Hi nicolastsoucalas!
As you are a resident of UK whereas your property is in Florida, I think the lender will not be able to place liens on property you own in UK. However, if you have another property in Florida or any other state of USA, then he may place lien on that property.
Thanks.
