If a married couple only has husband on the loan does wife have any rights after husband's death as borrower

if the husband's name is only on the mortgage docs, then the wife is not responsible for mortgage payments in any way. however, if the wife's name is on the property deed, then she can refinance the mortgage in her name or assume the home loan and pay off the dues on time in order to save the property.
