Hi. I need to remove my X husbands name from my loan. So we are going to have the loan assumed instead of refinancing. But my bank that I have my mortgage through is saying it will cost $900 to have it assumed. Is there another way I can assume it w/o paying so much?
There are certain costs involved while assuming the mortgage. So, you need to pay the required amount asked by the lender and then assume the loan. Nevertheless, you can always negotiate with your lender and check if he agrees to reduce the fees.
