my girlfriend wants me to co sign on a mortgage for her. i already have a mortgage and wonder if they can increase my rates

As you already have a mortgage, I doubt whether or not the lender would be ready to let you cosign for the loan. As far as the rates are concerned, I don't think cosigning for a loan will affect your mortgage rates.
