I have heard that in order to buy a mobile home you have to own your own land. I was wondering if I purchased a mobile home could I put it on a rented lot?

You might be able to place the mobile home on a rented lot. However, it would be difficult for you to get a conventional mobile home mortgage. You will have to go for a personal property loan.
