I my mortgage is due Oct 1 and I make my payment on Sept. 15, will it apply less of it to interest?
No, It is not possible. Since you had paid with the due date only. Not, the advance. So, there is no claim of less interest.
I don't think the payment will apply less towards the interest. You're just pre-paying your monthly payment. Nevertheless, I will suggest you to contact your lender and check out his opinion in this matter.
