1974 Home

My husband and I bought a mobile/modular home in in 1990. It is on 3/4 acre in a nice rural area. We have basically rebuilt the home from the bottom up. It has a new roof, new windows, half basement, sheet rock walls and standard doors and door frames throughout. We have replaced the subfloors and put in laminant and spent $20,000 remodeling the kitchen with Maple Cabinets. We also built a $25,000 shop in the back, which we paid cash for. How do we get the standard "before 1974" rule changed or reconsidered in our situation. It is very frustrating, as we have put all of our money to make it a "real home" and lenders don't consider that in the scenario as they do with regular homes. We bought this home because we were retiring (and it was before the 1974 ruling, so we are basically stuck after the fact). People come through the door and are amazed that it is a mobile/modular home. These homes are throughout our town because back then it was the only way you could get a home quickly. Any help or suggestions would be great.
