I was told by a real estate agent that I can not get a mortgage for a modular that is older than 1979 in New York State. I am looking into buying a modular that was built in 1972, which does not have Hud Tags. Would I be able to get a mortgage for the modular?

I think you should talk to some lenders to see whether you can get a mortgage. BTW have you yet consulted with lenders regarding this?

Most probably you won't get a mortgage for a modular home built before 1979.
