mortgage interest statement

When would I get a mortgage interest statement, is there any requirement I need to fulfill?
Hi Henb,

If during the year you pay mortgage interest amounting to $600 or more, then normally you will receive a Form 1098, Mortgage Interest Statement from your bank.

Hi Henb,

Welcome to Mortgagefit forum.

I would like to provide some more information. Mortgage interest statement for each year will generally be sent to you by January 31 of the following year.

This statement will show total interest paid by you during the year. And if you purchased your home during the year then it will also show the deductible points (including seller paid points) that were paid during the year.

Do let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks
Blue
