Ok am i supposed to file the Adverse Possession before we move in or after we been there for a while? and where can I get the forms that need to be filled out and filed at the court house? This is for a house in Las Vegas Nevada.
Permission from the owner, as given by a lease, does not qualify because it is not hostile.

Hi Brianna!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, you may have to file the adverse possession before you move in to the property. However, in order to claim adverse possession, you need to maintain the property for a certain period of time as per your state laws and pay taxes for that property. If you fulfil the required criteria, then you will be able to claim adverse possession on that property. You can contact a real estate attorney and he will further assist you in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
