How long do I wait to buy home after chapter 13 dismissal?

Posted on: 24th Mar, 2007 04:11 pm
My Chapter 13 was dismissed in 2003. How long does it take after a dismiss will I be able to optain a home loan. My credit was pulled, since I have not optained any credit I do not have a credit score at this time. I had to supply other credit refer stating that in the last 12 months I have not been over 30 days late. EX. Rent, insurence, cell phone, etc... Then the lender saw that the 13 was dismissed not discharged she said I would not be approved for a home loan.

How long will the 13 haunt me??? So far it has been 4 years????

Thanks
Hi romen!

Welcome to forums!

As far as I know, if you have taken out a payday loan, it will be mentioned in your credit report. The trustee may be able to know about it from your credit report itself. Moreover, as the loan has been paid off, you won't have to worry about that account.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Welcome znader,

You can get your bankruptcy filing dismissed. However, this will remain mentioned in your credit report and may affect your scores but I don't think it will have a negative affect on your credit cards or home if you keep on paying the debts on time.

My Chapter 13 was dismissed June 2008 noting, I have paid all of my creditors except the home lender. My question; is there any chance for me of becoming a home owner again and to have dismissed removed from my credit report. My my current credit score is 680
