Can I get a Home Equity loan with a 600 credit rating

Posted on: 13th Jul, 2007 05:21 am
me and my wife's creidt is a combined low 600's with my credit being low and hers is high. i have talked to multiple lenders who said that it takes a 640 to get a home equity loan. we are not looking to refinance because i am only needing 15,000 and closing cost would be 5k and it wouldn't be worth it to me i have about 80k in equity. we also can not use her credit because i make all the money so she would have to show the lender that she makes enough money to cover the mortgage and all the bills, so we have to be combined. i pay all the bills. hopefully a lender steps up and we can open this home equity line of credit or loan. thanks agian for all the help.
i love this forum!!!
helcohelp,

I agree with you. The guys here are really helpful. I hope you are soon able to come across such a lender. But have you started loan shopping? I think it will be possible for you to get a loan at 600 also. Just keep trying...

Ya I have been shopping around and they said you have to have a 640 and I need the money ASAP and tell you the truth I dont care if the rate is 10% because I will only be in the house for another three years, so it a high rate will be pretty minimal on my monthly payment.

thanks for the help

Some lender would be willing to offer HEL even with your present score. It is that you have to contact a few more lenders.

Hi Helcohelp,

I do understand that it's difficult at times to get the offer that you're actually looking for. But then you do need the money asap. So if you are interested, you can send your Request for Mortgage quotes to our community lenders.

Our community has a group of lenders offering a variety of loan packages to people having different levels of income and credit scores. As soon as we receive your request, we shall forward it to the lenders and they shall contact you if they can match their profiles with your loan requirements. By the way, which state are you in?

Let's hope something good turns out for you :)
