mortgage pre-approval: what do I need to sign?

Posted on: 27th Aug, 2009 05:32 pm
What do I need to sign for a pre approval.

The mortgage agent sent me paperwork requiring me to sign:
Fee Disclosure
FHA/VA Purchase Agreement Addendum
Important Notice to homebuyer
Assumption of HUD/FHA Insured mortgage
Affiliated Business Arrangement Disclosure
Application Certification Documents
Borrower Certification
Signed letter of Inquiries

I need all of that for a pre approval? He also asked for w2s, bank statements and pay stubs. If I don't require all of that, how can I politely ask him to do the pre approval without all of that?
Please check with the lenders ont hsi forum

He COULD complete your application without those docs and submit to DU for a pre-approval. However, once he receives your paperwork, he would have to re-do some of the application and re-submit if the numbers did not match what you had originally provided.
