I am in the starting process of a deed in lieu, iam behind 2 months in my mortgage payments this is a second home. If I can come up with the money for the 2 payments should I pay them? Or should I just let the deed in lieu process wait to take effect?
Hi jd
If you want to save the property and if you can afford to pay off the debts now, you should pay it off to the lender. Paying off the debts now will save you from a deed in lieu. It will also save your credit score from getting ruined. If you do not want to save the property, then you can let it go into a deed in lieu.
Thanks.
