CONGRESS NEW HARDSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Posted on: 04th Mar, 2009 11:33 am
ABOUT A MONTH AGO I REQESTED HELP FOR MY MORTGAGE PAYMENT TO BE LOWERED ALONG WITH THE INTEREST, CITIBANK OFFERED ME A LOAN MODIFICATION FROM 10.5% TO 9.5% ALONG WITH MY PAYMENT GOING UP $20.00 NOW WOULD INCLUDE MY TAXES, THIS WASN'T THE HELP I WAS LOOKING FOR BUT THEY SAID THAT IS ALL THAT THEY COULD DO FOR ME. NOW CONGRESS PASSES THIS PROGRAM THAT HELPS RESPONSIBLE OWNERS THAT ARE ON THE VERGE OF BEING DELINQUENT BUT CITI BANK SAYS THEY CANNOT OFFER ME THIS PROGRM BECAUSE I JUST BOOK A LOAN MODIFCATION WITH THEM. I WAS LOOKING TO LOWER MY PAYMENT AND INTEREST NOT TO INCREASE MY PAYMENT BUT I HAD NO CHOICE. I WOULD OF NEVER TAKEN THIS IF THIS PROGRAM WAS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE, CITI SAYS THEY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE PROGRAM EITHER IN WHICH I DO NOT BELEIVE. MY CREDIT IS BAD BECAUSE I LET ALL MY OTHER CREDIT GO TO THE WAYSIDE TO PAY MY MORTGAGE, I KNOW I SOON WILL BE DEFAULT, I FIGHTING THIS ISSUE WITH CITIBANK,

COMMENTS, HELP!
nobody knew about this program...everything is happening at an accelerated pace in this economy because things went sour so rapidly.

every day there's a new surprise. by all means, you ought to pursue this with citibank.

I am pursuing it, and I know nobody knew it and they basically said the same thing. But I shoudlng't have to pay for the red tape that has to do with banks because I took it just a month earlier, and this program is what I was looking for. I feel Citibank is just trying to squeeze every penny out of me, I'm paying it let's see how much more we can get.
Basically telling me to me deliquent then you can can get help...

Twenty-one months later, a surprise. Someone went and re-read the announcement, I surmise.

The rhyming in the previous comment wasn't intentional. It was merely happenstance.
