Why would lender send account to collections if there was an agreement on foreclosure?...I live in a house that I have been trying to take over the payments, i have a question that concerns foreclosures and forebearance. Shortly after I stopped the foreclosure proceedings, the mortgage lender sent the account to another company, a collection company. Is this right? what exactly is the purpose for this and why are we now getting two different payment amounts and due dates?
Hi luvdogs
I guess, you had applied for a forbearance. But was your forbearance request accepted by the lender? If the lender did not accept the forbearance request, then he can have the right to charge off the mortgage to a collection agency.
But as you have mentioned that you are getting two different payment amounts and due dates, I think you should speak to your lender and clarify the whole issue.
Thanks.
