Went to court for second time today and the guy said he had no money to pay and his unemployment ran out--i was told by one of his friends he lied in court about that too, the judge told me today i could put a lien on his car but didn't tell me how to do it, i am on disability and a female and don't know how to do any of this, how can i find out if he is getting unemployment and how do i go about getting a lien on his car-hes a deadbeat and lies in court
Hi shirleyjd,
As far as I know, you'll have to register your judgment with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in order to place the lien on that person's car. When the person sells off the car, you will be able to recover your dues. It will be better if you can contact an attorney and take his opinion in this regard.
Thanks
